On the site of a former soap factory, the Savonnerie Heymans, the Brussels-based firm MDW has constructed 42 social housing apartments whole still retaining the industrial flavor. Project architect Gilles Debrun calls it “a village” that offers protected space for interaction in an otherwise cramped urban setting.
