On Friday October 23 I will participate in a panel at the 45th Loeb Fellowship Reunion at the Graduate School of Design (GSD) at Harvard University. “Design for Change: Encouraging Strides Towards Equity and Resilience” is the theme of the symposium. The leading question willl be: what are the most important things the City of Boston can do now and in the future to adapt to more extreme temperatures, higher sea levels and more frequent and destructive storms? The other panelists are Bud Riis, the new Chief Resilience Officer for Boston, and Julie Wormser. They will have specific local knowledge of Boston’s challenges and capacities. I was asked to bring a more global perspective, lessons from the Netherlands and other places.
