Design & The City is een vierdaags evenement dat internationale experts, onderzoekers, designers, educators en beleidsmaker bij elkaar brengt om te kijken naar design in smart cities dat inwoners centraal stelt. Gedurende de workshops, conferentie en sessies over living lab methodologie zal de rol van designers als initiator, innovator, campagnevoerder, connector, organisator, criticus en bedenker van een alternatieve stedelijke toekomst centraal staan. We gaan ook kijken naar concrete design strategieën, welke kunnen bijdragen aan een meer leefbare, duurzame en sociale stedelijke gemeenschap.

Ik zal de workshop op de avond van 20 april leiden en de conferentie voorzitten op 21 april.

Design & The City is a four-day event that brings together international experts, researchers, designers, educators and policy makers to explore citizen-centered design approaches to the smart city. During our workshops, a round table conference and a session on living lab methodologies, the role of designers will be addressed as initiators, innovators, campaigners, connectors, organisers, critics and imagineers of alternative urban futures. In addition, we’ll discuss concrete design strategies that can contribute to more liveable, sustainable and sociable urban communities.

I will lead the workshop on April 20 and preside the conference on April 21.
