This 7th episode of the podcast Waterproof for Partners for Water is about activists and campaigners who not only care deeply about water and nature. Water bodies, rivers, forests – they should have legal rights, just like a person. So our speakers jump in urban waterways, they walk the rivers, they write books, they even take governments to court. And some of them even sing songs with the trees and the turtles. All in the service of making sure we have drinkable rivers and swimmable cities. Listen to it here:

Harvard study trip to Denver: ‘Water in the West’

It is climate change that is sucking the Colorado River dry, or the fact that too many people have too many straws in its water? Actually it’s both, we learned during our yearly Harvard GSD Loeb Fellowship study trip that went to Denver, Colorado this year. So yes this is a big story. I touched on some of the pertinent issues in this article for the Loeb Fellowship website (pdf and images below).

De Rijkswaterstaat-publicatie ‘De Lichtkogel’ heeft deze keer als thema ‘Publieke waarde’. Ik werd geïnterviewd over de groeiende rol van water, niet alleen als technische aangelegenheid maar vooral als sociaal vraagstuk. Women Mind the Water: ‘Water Talks’ in Artivist series
